Drift dives

Sharm El Sheik is in the middle of the desert. There is nothing really interesting to visit !
The only reason to go to Sharm El Sheik is to do watersports and mainly diving. If you do diving, you can book for a few dive trips. Usually, the dive trip is one day long with meal served on board, or a one week cruise.
You need to be certified divers to go on those boats.
Most hotels will find you a boat, but if diving is the main goal of your trip, it is better to buy a bundle hotel+dive boat before leaving your country.

Sharm El Sheik is mostly wall and drift diving. The boat takes you to the outer edge of the reef, you make your dive following the current, and the boat come to take you when you exit the water. The visibility is usually very good. You get to see a lot of corals and small colorful fishes. The best dives are in the Ras Mohamad National Park at the top end of the Sinai desert. You have to pay a tax to go to that park but it is worth it.
I have never seen any big fishes or sharks.

Say NO to software patents!

The European Union is considering software patents in Europe. This is a danger for software authors and software companies who do not use and do not need the patent system to innovate. They must be protected from owners of dubious granted patents.
